I've been listening to this album since it was only available on vinyl and analog tape, and like most Zappa albums, it never ages. Recorded live over two months of performances, Zappa in New York features his usual raunchy humor, including my favorite, "T*****s and Beer", which is imbued with the spirit of Halloween night when it was recorded. Other cuts show off Zappa's considerable skills as a lead guitarist. Game show announcer Don Pardo (remember him?)chips in, and the party just goes on from there. Buy this album for the satire, but also buy it if you want to hear Zappa at his live jamming best, backed by a band that only makes him better.
