I just recently learned about this band called Wolf. I picked up "Evil Star" at my local music store and wow, I am impressed! I've known for a while now that Sweden has its own really big hard rock/metal music scene but I never knew that they possessed bands with this level of talent, now I simply must check more of them out. From what I understand this is one of three titles that have been put out by the band. To me, they sound a lot like Triumph (Wolf is also a trio band) after a couple years of steroids and an aggressive weight lifting routine. This cd oozes metal, front to back! The lead vocalists name is Niklas Olsson and he really belts it out (very clear English), he is also the lead guitarist and that is what has impressed me the most about this title. The guitar work is extraordinary to say the least. Wolf could have easily fit into the 80's metal scene with this classic yet unique sound that they have. If your a metal fan, a lover of great guitar or just looking for something new to you that absolutely rocks then you won't go wrong buying this disk. 2 thumbs up for sure!Read full review
this cd is awesome if you like priest and iron maiden etc.very well made songs and killer guitarwork too. i have been a metal head since 1980 and if you like power metal get this cd.fantastic version of boc's don't fear the reaper and the die by the sword cover from slayer will just rip your face right off.get all the wolf cd's there great. there wolf wolf sounds the most old school iron maidenish out of the 3 they have out .highly recomended to any one who like s metal.stand outs include evil star and devil moon. they sound like there music should be in a really good horror movie . but then the music will be better thann the movie most likely. you can't go wrong with the wolf.get it now you'll be glad you did!
Once of the best pure Metal bands in todays age. If you are a fan of bands like Mercyful Fate, and Iron maiden and have never heard WOLF, this will blow you away. These guys know what metal should be. lyrics are very dark and very evil, the way it should be.
