JD 1010 Gas Water Pump
The water pump arrived well packaged with no issues. It is coated with what appears to be a clear substance, possibly to prevent rust. Mine did not require any cleaning, I simply applied two coats of JD green paint and let it sit until dry. The supplied gasket was correct with no alignment issues; all holes lined up where they were supposed to. I used a thin coat of Hi Tack on pump and gasket surfaces. Installation was straight forward. I would recommend all threaded holes and fasteners are cleaned, lubed and test-threaded to facilitate re-assembly and even torque. Once back together, the pump pulley was correctly aligned with the bottom and generator pulleys. After filling with fresh anti-freeze, I started the tractor and purged the system of air. Great part for repair of water pump
Pump fit perfectly, looks to be of good quality. I had no problem installing this pump. All the threaded holes were tapped correctly. You may need to use new bolts to prevent stripped or broken bolts because of rust on the old ones.
