Can adapt to old Sears tractor
This unit is well made and I was able to make it work in my old Sears tractor with the 1.5" OD neck filler. It snaps apart and then I shaved down the 4 ridges to fit snugly in the neck. Re-assembled and added an O-ring for the top seal. It works fine and indicates the correct fuel level. (The Sears part has not been available for years)

Good construction, but to short. Measure the depth of the tank.
Not that it matters to me, but upon installing the gas gauge, it is not on center. It rotates to far to the right or it is not level to view. Also found that it don't register correctly, as in it does not show the correct amount of fuel. To short I think. The one that was in it must not have been the correct one. I should have measured the depth of the tank before I ordered, but I did not. When it registers empty, I still have plenty of gas, so I won't run out when it shows empty. Restoring old J.D. Tractor.
The old gas cap was destroyed by old age and sitting outside. The replacement here, looks like an exact copy when the fuel cap was new. Perfect fit and looks great.
