Great set - it is interactive (the Golem is hidden under one of the base plates and can be raised in one move by pulling down on one section), it can be put together in several different configurations, and it includes a lot of figures to play with as well as blocks to "mine" (plus a pickaxe). My 4.5 yr old grandson usually only assembles the figures in a regular (non-Junior) Lego set and I have to put the rest together for him, but this set's instructions have quite a few smaller "sections" to build separately and then attach to the main section - so he was able to do most of those himself and very pleased about it. I highly recommend this set even if the child is not 8+ years old.
