Pretty good action filled film about a team of tornado hunting storm chasers. Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton are divorced. He is planning to remarry and goes to Hunt to get the divorce papers signed. She has been dragging her feet signing them. For years they worked together trying to devise a warning system to alert communities of impending tornadoes. As a child, Hunt lost her father to one, and has since been obsessed with this project. This obsession is one of the wedges in the unraveling of their relationship. While there, a storm cell develops and the crew is ready to roll. Again having not signed the papers Hunt takes off, but Bill and his future bride to be, take off after her to get them signed. Before leaving the group, Bill had an idea named DOROTHY, which was a device that could be placed in the path of a tornado, and if picked up, it contained hundreds of small sensors that once inside the storm could provide immense information concerning the structure and movement of these storms. Hunt has actually built DOROTHY and Bill decides to tag along one more time, just to see it work. There are all sorts of problems with the package plus the romantic back story of their relationship. Along the way, Bills new fiancee sees that they are still in love with each other and decides to bow out. There is also a lot of great footage of twisters. Great movie people need to buy and watch. Nothing to dislike on the movie. If people like tornadoes then I recommend anyone to watch. When I watched this movie I was blown away because two main characters have great chemistry with each other. People these days like watching old movies that we're exciting, thriller & learn from. Great film for people to watch for details for projects or family night. Other tornado movies aren't as good but this one will catch your eyes. I didn't know cans can build for science geeks. Compared to Jurassic park thus movie beats it with romance, action.
