The end-pages are cut and the front and back end-page have a cloth cover, while the rest of the pages are rough cut, though they all have a gilt top edge. This is set number 8 of 150 copies made of the limited "Connoisseur" edition, and there is a colored portrait in each volume. The books are all in excellent, though varied condition. Details continue below. - Upper spine extremities on vol. 9 and 16 are chipped. - Hinges are cracked on vol. 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, and 16. - Chipping on the corners to vol. 8, 13, 17, and 19 (upper), and 4, 11 (lower). - Minor shelf wear appears on most volumes.”
