Works well enough for the price. The item I received was slightly damaged (a couple of the wires from the controller were cut), but it was easy enough to solder it back together to fix. The motor has decent power, even though I'm running it from a pretty small battery. Can't manage steep hills all on its own without me pedaling, but that's more of a limitation of the type of motor (hub vs mid-drive) than this item itself.

I had a SRAM electric motor installed and had to return it when I left SRAM since it was a prototype. This motor works just as well, is the same weight and cost 1/4 as much. Also it allows me to run unregulated 1000w if I so desire. I like the brake levers, and they work with my installed brakes. The throttle is useful now and then if I feel the pedal sensor is not kicking in fast enough. The one thing that is not so nice is the bag of wires and controller not integrated into the hub. This detail makes the install a bit ugly but it is a small price to pay for the reduction in cost. Also if there should ever be an issue with the motor or controller they are separate and could be replaced individually.

Hooked the hub motor to a different controller I had and was able to get up to 40 mph. With this controller it probably only gets to 30 mph which is plenty fast. Put it on my mountain bike to help get up the hills while in the woods and it works great. Plenty fast and enough torque for the steep hills with light pedaling or just cruising on level or slightly hilly ground.

Powerful motor, and controller. Easy installation. The only issue I have had is the edge on the motor shaft where the wires go into it. The edge is razor sharp and it cut the small wires. I had to disassemble the motor and re-wire it. If your handy this isn't too difficult. I would suggest taping up that wire so it doesn't move or bounce against that shaft edge. I used a stiff piece of rubber against the shaft and wire and taped it up so it comes out straight and is solid. I'm 50 years old and have never had so much fun on a bike, or gone as fast as this thing carries me. I recommend this to anyone who likes riding bicycles.

I have reached 50 km/h (with just one person on bike), and have loaded with a weight of about 340 pounds (2*170), and it is powerful, consistent, and reliable. I like it!! Mine is 48 V 1000W. I'm operating it with a 10 amp battery (I recommend you use a bigger battery).
