The sight delivers higher visibility in all light situations and excels in low light. With proper installation, no sight adjustments are needed. Can be set on Blakhawk and Super Blackhawk models. Only those models with roll pinned front sight are applicable. Some folks may need the services of a qualified gunsmith or machinist for proper installation of the new sight. Some careful precise fitting is required on the base of the replacement sight into base receptacle. Existing sight must be removed. Precise drilling of the sight fixture hole is critical for proper affixation. The stock roll pin must be reinstalled. Overall it is a great help for aging eyes and cloudy days when the front sight becomes large, blurred and difficult to focus. The sight makes for very good aiming point especially with the green insert. My only problem is that the instructions on how to mount it were non-existent. My original front sight was pinned with a hole for the sight insert. The one from Hi-Viz did not have a hole for the pin that secures it. I had a very hard time putting it back into the groove. Finally was able to press it in. I then had to use a very small drill bit to put a hole in the insert to secure it. It is not the easiest sight to mount and I would have expected the new sight to slide in with a hole for the drift pin to be there. It was not. I paid $30 for this and expected it to be easier to install. I recommend that anyone that does not have the patience or tools to take it to a gunsmith.

I was having a hard time seeing my front sight on my Ruger 45 flat top convertible. I read that this sight was good for the job. What a difference it made. While it's not as bright as Tridiums, it does stand out. Installing it was easy. I unpinned the old sight and had to do minor filing to get it to fit in. I then drilled a 1/16th hole from both sides and reinserted the original pin and it was done. About a half an hour of my time. i don't use a holster so i don't know if it interferes with it.It seems to be the same height as the original, It does come with red,green and white inserts.Green is my choice.Qualiy seems to be good. I do recommend it.
