The unit I received was an open box. As AMD runs much nicer on Linux than nvidia I went with this laptop to have an awesome Linux gaming rig. Unfortunately my unit kept locking up nonstop, so I ended up sending it back. It’s possible that mine was just defecting though. Other things to consider with this laptop are that it is a pain to take apart to upgrade specs in, and you need to reapply the thermal paste to change the NVME drive.
