I had their small one where you needed to add the amount of water you want to brew as it will not stop brewing... This one has 3 settings to choose from, 8oz, 10 and 14. So, once you fill the water container you are set for whatever size and whatever you want to brew. Loud?? Gee... Not at all. A+++
