I put the amplifier on top of my television antenna that I had also purchased from channel master which is on the roof. There are two settings on the amplifier high and low. It is a bit ackward to have to go up on the roof to change the setting to get a particular station. If I leave the setting on high for some reason I don't receive as many stations as when I leave it set to low. On the other hand the fringe stations don't come in when it is on the low setting. I am still happy with the combination of antenna and amplifier as I get around 40 free channels of television.

I was surprised the drop in signal strength when this amp was put inline. The Samsung TV's meter showed a drop of about 2/3 the strength on the low 17db gain setting and a drop of about 1/3 the original level on the 30db gain setting. Though I also saw the minimum strengths of all channels be about even so maybe it levels out the signals to be more "normal" compared to each other.

Simple to use and has the unique advantage of featuring two amplification settings for various applications. And offered by one of the decades old, legacy U.S. brands.

The item is pricey. Used at first at the TV end brought in more channels but many shaky. Switched to antenna (attic mounted) with improvement. The unit definitely improves quality, but honestly expected more since the bulk of station antenna are within 20-30 miles. Line of sight not terrible here, but with OTA there can be many factors, so I can't fault this unit as the problem.Still a work in-progress to get the best signal.

I would have given this product a 5-star rating if the power cord wasn't defective. Didn't stay on until I replaced the cord. I live on Cayon Lake, which is about 40 miles north of San Antonio and 40 miles south of Austin Texas. I pick up four channels from Austin and four from San Antonio. Before the Channel Master they would only periodically come in. Now most of them come in all the time.
