This album is a classic tribute album from the 1970s. It's the best of all the Bob Wills tributes (like Asleep at the Wheel's) because, although the musicianship and recording quality might be just a touch less impressive, Haggard's vocals are far better than anyone else's. But does Koch mean the Koch brothers? If so, ugh.

THIS ALBUM IS FOR THE TRUEHEARTED COUNTRY FAN, iF YOU LIKE THE NEW COUNTRY, MOST LIKELY YOU WILL NOT APPRECIATE THE TRUE GENIUS OF THIS ALBUM. HAG HAS A WAY OF BRINGING OUT THE BEST IN THE MUSICIANS WHO WORKED ON THIS ALBUM JUST AS HIS HERO BOB WILLS DID. THIS IS A TIMELESS ALBUM,ANOTHER OF HAG'S GREAT MASTERPIECES.
Great album. Read somewhere that it was George Strait's only album as a kid. Twice as good if you like Bob Wills and Merle Haggard. The Playboys are at the top of their game on this album. The Hag as well...
