Awesome mixer, very sturdy, built for last very long time of use, smooth faders and knobs, very quiet, sound very good, lot of input . I would give it more stars if I can.

My very first mixer was a Mackie 1604 VLZ. It didn't sound half bad. But then I started working on A&H, Soundtracs, Toft, etc.in the studio and the VLZ just didn't do it for me any more, even in a live situation. Fast forward a decade or two and I hear an ONYX board and am really impressed. So now Mackie is putting the ONYX preamps on the VLZ4, I had to check it out. So when I needed a little 6 XLR input board for some remote work, and saw one on ebay for a great price I had to try it. No, it's not a Toft or MIDAS or SSL but those are for the studio. For live application this really impressed me. I had acoustic instruments mic'd up, a few singers and even an old M3 kepboard direct in and this little guy sounded great. I wish the second AUX was pre/post fade but all in all, this little guy is fantastic.Read full review

I love this mixer. I use it for my recordings. It works really good. When you record your voice it sounds like you're in a radio station. Super cool!
