cymbal was in good shape. price was comparable. anything negative would be due to my likes and has nothing to do with the cymbal.

I play three cymbals and hats. Two crashes and a ride. For the past three years, I've loved having both crashes be 18s, just different models. This AAX-Plosion 18" is quite the thrasher. It's got a real high crash sound and is really good for crashin on a chorus or somethin. It has a nice bounce back enough to pull 8ths on it. (some cymbals have funky bouncebacks that makes 8ths tough to do.) I highly recommend it. For fusion or R&B players, this would probably be your largest cymbal in your gig. For Rock, this would be great to go along with a lower pitch cymbal (I'm currently using the AA Medium Crash) to cover both pitch spectrums. For jazz- steer clear. This ain't for you. :D
I have got accustomed to the crisp sound of these cymbals. I have bought some “vintage sounding” cymbals to play some classic rock but love the bright, crisp sound of the AAX Explosions!

Excellent cymbal, heavy and dark but yet explosive. The bell sound it´s great and it´s a high volume almost like a ride. Also responsive when you hit the cymbal slowly, and a lot of sustain when you hit it with energy. I think is great for rock or louder music, you can´t go wrong with this. I use it mainly as a second crash.
Delivered on time & wrapped up with great care & excellence.
