Good Inexpensive Upgrade
Looking for an upgrade for a JS20 Jackson, the original 10.5k bridge humbucker wasn't getting it done. After replacing the tuners with Wilkinson self lockers and this pickup it became a good instrument to play. Paid $50 for the Jackson (used) and $50 for upgrades . I now play it a lot and sounds so much better especially overdriven. With jumbo frets I have harmonics all over. I would recommend it. Mind you this is not a $100 Duncan or DiMarzio but if you want an inexpensive fix to a weak bridge humbucker, this is a good choice.Looking for an upgrade for a JS20 Jackson, the original 10.5k bridge humbucker wasn't getting it done. well, i gave it a shot and its the real deal

GM hot alnico 5
this pickup is about the same as the platinum alnico 5. the base plate is brass not nickel/silver,with 6 adjustable poles not 12. resistance is the same.these sound great, like a hot vintage sound , not so edgy like ceramic pickups.clean sounds great. high gain is awesome with sort of an lp midrange. these sound as good as high doller brand name pickups. Swapped out the ceramic in old Jackson guitar for this. Nice cleans and punchier and tighter distortion sound. Good lead length to work with. Included basic documentation. No brainer upgrade and great value (provided you do your own pickup swaps. I imagine paying thirty or more bucks for a tech makes it less of a deal.)

Alnico 5 pickup is great for deep growl. Not high and screechy like some ceramic magnet pickups. Worked wonders for tone on my Jackson. More Bass, great harmonics.
