    ST51 - a solid performer.

    Great price. Second ST51 I've purchased and they sound great at a bargain price. Solidly built, true condenser rather than electret. Only thing that would make it nicer would be having a low roll off switch, bu you need o get the ST55 to have that feature.I like he discrete components rather than SMD. Overall solid sound with crisp highs and good presence..

    My new forever mic!

    This mic came recommended by my voice-over coach/mentor. It's been years since I've done VO work and I'm reviving an old skillset after years of doing other things. This particular mic amplifies the highs in my vocal timbre while maintaining rich lows -- perfect for brightening a mature woman's voice. It makes recording to get the sound quality I need that much easier! My coach was on point!

    Worth the money

    I purchased this mic for recording hip hop vocals after using a usb condenser for a year. I purchased this mic used and I am astonished by the value and performance. This is one of the best mics I've used (I have used a few pro mics that were obviously better, but this one isn't far off). The mic gives a natural and distortion free playback. Take note that this mic requires phantom power to function which is available on most mixers and preamps. I personally use a Lexicon Lambda preamp and it is great. The St51 is definantly worth the money and I heard around the block that many others love this mic also, it is good for many music genres.

    Sterling Audio ST51 Condenser Microphone

    I am a self-taught audio engineer and musician. I have worked in digital recording studios. I tested the Sterling Audio ST51 side-by-side with my Shure KSM32. I really didn't hear any difference between the two. It's pretty "no frills" - no pad, no LF rolloff, no switchable polar patterns - but it seems to be a quality mic, especially for the $$. They sell for $99.00 new, I got mine for $51.00 on eBay.
