Buy a Dangerous D'Box today, but not mine.
This unit is everything the company claims it to be. That's rare. When I first read about it, I thought it was unnecessary for my project studio. I have a simple Pro Tools 003 setup. However, it has helped take my studio to the next level. The D/A converter quality is obvious. Once I hooked it up, I heard a real stereo spread for the first time ever. I had been using makeshift talkbacks. This has a talkback. It has two seperate monitor outs. I bought the worst monitors I could find for my second pair. If I can make things sound right on these, then I've done my job. It's got a Mono switch, which is cool. It has a CD hookup. The great thing here is, when I want to hear a Chilli Peppers snare A/B'd against my snare, I am hearing them through the same converters, so it's a more true test. It ... When I first hooked that all up, I didn't hear an audible difference. I am still incomplete on that part. I am totally thrilled with the D'Box. Buy one today, but not mine.

This is an awesome box, one of the best investments I have ever made. If you are not familiar with this unit, you are probably not into recording digital music. I'm kind of old school and have become accustom to an analog sound, don't get me wrong, digital recording today is actually very easy to do. I just prefer to mix in the analog domain and the dangerous d box gives me that. the other cool option is the monitor controller I have 4 sets of monitors although I can hook up only 2 sets , I can actually hear what is really there. The Dbox has many features I think that will help you make good decisions while mixing..plus you can expand it...This is an awesome box, one of the best investments I have ever made.
