It starts a bit strong, but dries down to a lighter, floral fragrance of white flowers. Oscar is not a perfume that will be perfect for everyone, as it is by no means contemporary in complex. This is more suited for the older lady with great taste in clothing, jewelry, who has made her place in the world. It is a lovely scent, soapy, powdery, but just not for me. I much prefer Oscar rosamor personally with a more youthfull aroma. But to each his own. I will still use this from time to time but it will not be my go to, although it does seem to grow on you after it dries down for 20 minutes and the florals take over.

This fragrance won a FiFi in '77 or '78. It's right up there with Shalimar and Chanel °5 as one of the all time greats. This perfume just smells expensive. When I wear it out on the town, I expect to see James Bond drinking a martini across the bar from me. This isn't among the candy floss and tutti frutti perfumes marketed to sweet young things, peddled in pink bottles. This is a perfume for ladies of great class and sophistication. A young lady could certainly wear it if she wanted to exude gravitas. This is the perfume I would give a woman who had just passed the Bar Exam. It's feminine, confident, and poised. Wear it when that's what you want the world to think of you.
