Great working solid built unit.
I must say I was more than a little surprised when I received this. It is very well built. It has nice chrome on it. It functions smoothly and quietly. It is even built to resemble a lug similar to Grestch or Slingerland type lugs. I have had some high ended snare drums that didn't have a snare throw off that was built as well as this one. It is 1 5/16" on center between the two mounting screws. It has rubber insulators to keep from having direct contact with the shell. All in all it is a very well thought out, simple and functional throw off. I would definitely recommend it as a replacement or if you are building your own snare drum. Smooth Action
I'm a live player (as well as a session guy) and I use multiple snares live and have to have reliable equipment. The standard snare throws that come with snares rust up (I tour and sometimes you play through the rain) and the standard throw offs rust up and jam. So far the Gibraltar has given me smooth and reliable action. And I've waxed it to help keep off the rust (yes I did that to the standard throws as well). Great throw, value
Like others reported, the mount screws were way too long for my application(or any metal shell)- 70s Pearl b4514 brass- but once you replace the screws with 3/8" lengths, and the washers since they are married to the original screws, you've got a serious, heavy duty throw- waay better than a lot of OEM pieces(especially old ones). And an excellent value comparatively. Gibraltar SC-DLSTO deluxe throw-off.
The Gibraltar SC-DLSTO throw-off is sturdy and well made. It is a side throw type throw-off, and can be seen as standard equipment on many brands of snare drums. It is a basic design, but is meant for heavy duty use. Nice chrome plating!
