Second To None.
My first pair I bought in the 70s serial #641856,641857. I used until 2012. I found a 1/4 inch crack in top cymbal 12/15/2012.I already had a pair of Paiste 15inch Signature Sound Edge. I still bought another pair of Paiste 2002 15inch Sound Edge Hi Hats to replace the old ones and retired them.I found two more pair of Paiste Signature 15inch Sound Edge. I LOVE the sound of these hats.They cut threw the sound barrier to be heard and are crisp and clean.These Hi Hats are second to NONE.When I first heard these cymbals were at a drum clinic featuring JOE Morello Paiste & Rogers drums.I knew right then those cymbals was the sound I was looking for. I sold every Zildjian I had & started collecting my Paiste set up.Best decision I ever made.My first pair I bought in the 70s serial #641856,641857. I used until 2012. Love these
This pair of Paiste 15” 2002 sound edge hi-hats are absolutely amazing sounding. I own a pair of 2002’s I bought back in 1981 that still sound fantastic that I use as second hats on an extension arm. Played by so many of the greatest drummers in the world past and present the Piste sound edge 2002’s are simply the best hi-hat in the world.

Big, Shimmering, Slow
This review is for the 15" Sound Edge hats. They are excellent hats with a great old school Bonham sound. They have great sustain and are very loud and cutting. Shimmering, mellow tone. That being said, they are large and heavy and don't like to stop/start quickly. Fast notes on the hi hat will get lost in the wash. Just know that going in. If you need something fast, look into Paiste Rude or Sabian Xcelerator (AAX or HHX)This review is for the 15" Sound Edge hats. They are excellent hats with a great old school Bonham sound.
