    Great product if you get a deal

    I already had the MPC Live, decided to purchase the upgrade. At full price, it is a hard pill to swallow, but if you can land a good deal, its a great pick-up. Work-flow is similar to the MPC Live, but with several changes that affect how easy it is to navigate around to what you want. I miss being able to "click" in a selection using the big dial, but the navigation with the directional pad is leagues better, especially when building out a drumrack. I am not personally using the expanded I/O, at least for now, but I am aware of the value it can bring to the table in most setups, its just unnecessary for mine as I am running everything through a Focusrite 18i20, into my computer and not using the MPC X as a standalone device (I have the Live still, for that).

    Big step from what I was using

    I had a Roland mc 808 and fl mobile app and now to go to the mpc x, its so many more sounds and functions and different features. Great machine 👍

    Coming from the MPC 5K which is an amazing MPC (after the update) I craved for something with a little more ease of use and some futuristic features. If you know MPC’s then you will quickly navigate through the basics. There are many changes to the workflow and a quick read through the MPC Bible will guide you to the new way of doing things. There are some new features which seem a bit unpolished and can be extremely frustrating but some updates based on user feedback should clear those things up. Akai (unlike other companies) does respond to user feedback. The pads feel great. Although you must adjust the sensors to your liking. The note repeat sustain can throw you off as it stays on until you turn it off (easily done) this can lead to the perception of lag as you jump to a different ...

The q links are lit up and very visable in any lighting and make it the easiest mpc of all to use, no more shift key for anything ultra fast work flow. large lcd touch screen the best very responsive and great when tweaking effects in realtime and programming automation.
