This is a pretty good Purple Martin house and hopefully we will have some tenants. The one negative is the mountain of small screws and nuts which must be used to put this together............of course, it does not help that I have big fingers. I got the wife involved and we got the house together in a couple of hours. Directions were fairly clear........the house is aluminum and will last a long time..........watch out for sharp edges, however. This house is a two story model and is fairly easy to mate both sections together.

I have never written a review, and I mean to tell you I purchase a lot of stuff.. The assembly of this unit only took me and my wife 8 hours to put it together The poorly written instructions, a bag full of tiny bolts and nuts and more sharp die-cut pieces of aluminum than you can count! The instruction did state, watch and be careful of all those sharp edges, because they will cut you. But if you have a lot of time, small hands, patience and a good relationship with your wife, this is the birdhouse you want to buy

I have a $39 plastic made in China snap together Martin house that has lasted 5 years on the Texas gulf coast. I live 50 miles from Harvey landfall and it survived 3 days of tropical storm Harvey lashing everything. My colony iS getting bigger so needed another house. Bought made in the USA whenever I can. My beer can has thicker aluminum. Time consuming to put together. Put it out and three days later had a front come through. Had to pick up pieces all over area. Put it back together with sheet metal screws. Took longer to put back together due to mangled pieces. I like the pole. One made in China 10 feet from this one still holding birds. Glad there were no birds in this one. I'll probably go with the plastic one to replace. Had hoped to be able to add a floor each year to this one. Probably not a good idea. Included a picture of the plastic oneRead full review

The product was poorly designed and when completed the floor sections did not align properly. Also there were very sharp edges so you wound up cutting your fingers when you tried to fit the floor panels into the constructed sidewalls. And lastly when finally assembled the bolts that were to hold it to a pole shredded the soft plastic ring that held them. I had to replace both bolts because they shredded the plastic ring and slide down the pole. The only way I could get it to hold to the pole was to drive wedges into the ring to hold it tight enough to stay in position on the pole. You need to check the cutting jigs and adjust them before selling more of this style bird house. And you should crimp the edges to eliminate the sharp edges you have to deal with during assembly! Very good. Not quite cut to perfection but close. Hope it will work for me for many years. Very sharp edges, easy to cut yourself.
