One of the teeth on the scratcher is higher than the rest So it actually targets the itchy area quickly. It is a natural bamboo piece so that’s probably the way a real one is most of the time anyway. It works well for my occasional use and looks similar to my wife’s bamboo piece were always fighting over. Now my side of the bed has its own scratcher.

The scratching end with fingers was well rounded and polished on one of the two back scratchers and it worked well. The same area on the other back scratcher was a little too sharp and rough against the skin and some clothing, not enough rounded and polished.

I had a Bamboo Scratcher for many years and all of a sudden it went MIA. After six months I gave up on the search and looked for another one. I saw the ones with the rollers in the handle & that looked stupid, useless Plus uncomfortable for the hand hold. Then I saw this one and knew it would be the winner. Bamboo is more sturdy & lighter weight. This one is very beefy, sturdy & feels great in the hand. It does the job perfectly. Even helps me get items that roll under furniture.
