This is a Costco copy of a $700 Yamaha receiver that’s identical in performance and features. It’s pretty future proof, but will require a free board swap from Yamaha to do 4K 120fps and 8K pass through (due out this fall). Almost nobody needs that now. Works great and really upped the sound quality from my speakers. Very happy with this purchase.

"Certified Refurbished" is supposed to be in pristine condition. The unit I received has a large scratch on the volume knob and rub or scuff marks across the entire front face. My electronics are hidden away in a cabinet so I decided to ignore the cosmetic issues. Connecting, powering up and updating all went smoothly. Sound was not what I expected and that is with Klipsch speakers I've used with at least 4 receivers since 2001. After digging around in the on screen menus and making many adjustments I am happy with sound quality. It was a long boring struggle to get through the menus though.

I rarely like to purchase more expensive devices that are refurbished, but in this case I made an exception due to the 'Certified Refurbished' and the 2 year warranty which gives me peace of mind knowing it is covered just in case.I am in the beginner stages of putting together my audio rack using separates (amplifiers, processor etc.) and with this AVR having two front speakers pre-amps plus with all the technology it holds like 8K, Alexa compatible, Dolby Vision/Atmos, 100w/ch, there's just no other receiver that can compete (look at Denon, Onkyo with pre-amps starting at more than double this price). I am currently using an older Emotiva amplifier to power my front two so that my surrounds and height speakers get more wattage with less distortion and so far I love it. This same AVR sells on amz but the price there is over $400 so this is the best deal especially with the current chip shortage in electronics, you just can't ask for more. Happy home theatering!!! It is a good Yamaha AV Receiver. I am replacing a 1999 Yamaha RXV992 that still works perfectly, only it does not have HDMI. So the need to upgrade since I am now 4k for everything else in my home theater. This unit is nice , has plenty of HDMI and the power while less than my other Yamaha, is ok. I run 5.2.1 two presence channels. It does a good job of adding height to the sound and effects with the presence channels. My two mains are MONOLITH speakers all the rest are Defintive Technology Pro Cinema with their Pro Sub. The sound quality appears to be similar to the RXV992. I wish the unit came with more digital inputs. It has 1 optical and 1 Dig. Coax. it would have been nice to have T2R slot. The display is easy to read and the on TV menu is ok with the setting mostly easy to navigate. I have a Pioneer ELITE Blueray player hooked up and the picture thru the TSR 700 is amazing. The remote is pretty basic but can do most functions easily. Over all I am most satisfied with it and hope it lasts as long as my 992 has.Read full review

Had an old receiver which worked fine, but was time for an upgrade because it could only do 1080p. Sound was no issue. It was a complete samsung product with subwoofer and speakers. I did not expect to get a sound boost this major as well. It made everything so loud and perfect, the speakers stopped rattling/vibrating at high volumes and got louder on top of that with no downsides. The subwoofer started working, I thought before it was as loud as it could be, but after i started using the tsr 700, i found out my old receiver wasn’t even powering my sub. Now the whole house shakes, even my garage door. This is the best receiver possible, if you go to high on volume (you dont have to with how loud it is) it will automatically shut down everything so you don’t blow your speakers and subs if they cannot handle it. And it handles 4k with hdmi 2.1. For the best setup, hookup all 9 speakers. It can take 2 subs also, but if you have a good one, just stick to one cause you risk loosening up everything in your house. Read full review
