Not as fast as a true SSD, but is much faster than a standard HDD. Purchased as a second drive for my Dell Precision M4800. Loads large files and games incredibly fast for a spinner type drive, especially one that operates at only 5400RPM. Runs cool and file transfers are lightning fast. Couldnt ask for a better drive for the money. I had a bad experience with Seagate before. I had two 3.5" Barracuda drives that were brand new die within months of each other. For the longest time I swore off of Seagate and went with Western Digital. Not sure what got me to try them again. Name, price, certainly didnt hurt. Overall, Im very happy with it and that I decided to give Seagate another chance. If this drive holds up, I will start considering Seagate much more from now on.

Works as it should. Gets quicker with time. Not as fast as an ssd but not the price of one either. Faster than a traditional drive and for $60.00 you can't go wrong. Sea gate drive wizard makes moving everything to the new drive painless. Took about 30'minutes to clone my 160gb ssd to this drive. Had 140gb of data. Dell D830 laptop. 6gb ram. Secondary had tray was used for data migration. Worked perfectly. Windows and all software is still activated too. This was way too easy.

Awesome drive. Took some steps to cut down on swappiness (set to 1) as advised with other guides concerning SSD's on linux. Although this drive is not an SSD, it does have an SSD component. On Windows there's not much you can do. It is a direct replacement for an old laptop hard drive.

Had a failing hard drive in a Dell laptop. I have used the firecuda before in my PS4 with no problems at all (2TB). This 1TB worked great as an upgrade for my Dell and really love the start up and shut down speeds for Windows. Price and reliability is well worth it for a hybrid drive. Thank You.

I've been using this now for about 6 months on an Intel Core i3 laptop (yawn). But the processor isn't what dogs a system, its the hard drive. There is a noticeable performance improvement over my old non-hybrid hard drive. Probably a bigger improvement than a one-step up processor upgrade - certainly cheaper (I had a buyer for my old drive).I feel I got a good price/performance ratio compared to regular drives or SSD.
