I've used a few mics, all very extensively for years at a time-- 414xlii, ksm27/44, rode k2... This mic and my voice were meant to be. It's got this body and warmth that has been hard to capture. This won a shootout between pearlman tm1, u87, and mojave Ma-300. Mics are entirely subjective to the sound source, but for my purposes, this p-12 is perfect (I'm a alto/mezzo range singer with some grit, singing mostly pop/R&B and jazz). Not exactly a c-12 but has its important characteristics and a much more affordable price tag;)

Having tried several of the Peluso line of microphones, the go to microphone for vocals and acoustic instruments in our studio is the P12. While all Peluso microphones are a safe guarantee of getting a sound very close to the vintage mics they emulate (sans the high restorative and maintenance costs), the P12 in particular is more faithful to the C12 than the cost suggests. It even smokes AKG's own $6000 rebranded "VR" version of their classic mic.
