Excellent Connection for Surround Sound System
Learned a lot about surround sound systems recently and found that the amp/receiver is the key to success IF it (1) has the connections needed; (2) has the necessary power; and (3) gives you the capability to adjust and fine tune the performance of each speaker separately. This Onkyo unit scores on all three. Connected a Klipsch Reference Theater Pack 5.1 Surround Sound System and couldn't be happier with the results. (I read some of the older reviews about surround sound installations after I placed my order and have to say I was a little apprehensive. However, we had absolutely no issues. Everything connected and worked on the first try.) The feature I found most helpful was being able to adjust the levels and tones of each speaker, separately, with the remote. Adjustments were easy to ... My wife and I both get more enjoyment out of watching movies and TV with sound that's clearer and stronger and surrounding us.

This is a very nice budget reciever. I believe it competes nicely with anything in the next bracket up. It was shipped immediately and showed up on time and expertly packed. Set up was a breeze and everything works as expected. I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone that is setting up a 5.2system on a budget. The bluetooth connection works really well also.
