My first unit later for 11 years until I plugged in the wrong ac AC adapter which damaged the bord. The unit still functioned correctly expect not been able to keep it powered up with the AC adapter. So I would say this is robust piece of kit that should last 10+ year if you are careful. On that note the outdoor sensors suite unit should also see you through 10 years
