About this product

Product Information

For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris--Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut.   Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives--the ones we'd like to pretend never happened--are in fact the ones that define us. In the #1 N ew York Times bestseller, Let's Pretend This Never Happened , Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor. Chapters include: "Stanley the Magical, Talking Squirrel"; "A Series of Angry Post-It Notes to My Husband"; "My Vagina Is Fine. Thanks for Asking"; "And Then I Snuck a Dead Cuban Alligator on an Airplane." Pictures with captions (no one would believe these things without proof) accompany the text.

"Jenny Lawson is hilarious, snarky, witty, totally inappropriate, and 'Like Mother Teresa, Only Better.'" -- Marie Claire magazine, "The Bloggess writes stuff that actually is laugh-out-loud, but you know that really you shouldn't be laughing and probably you'll go to hell for laughing, so maybe you shouldn't read it. That would be safer and wiser." -Neil Gaiman, "Even when I was funny, I wasn''t this funny."  -Augusten Burroughs, author of Running With Scissors and This is How "There's something wrong with Jenny Lawson-magnificently wrong. The book ~ The Happiness Trap, that I ordered was billed as good condition, it should have said excellent condition. There are no bent corners, the binding of the book has no creases, so it has never been opened, there are no highlighted pages. My therapist asked me to get it, & we'd go over it together, which means that I'll be able to highlight passages. The book listed at $5.04 plus tax, which came to $5.39, free shipping.

Very acceptable condition, a few scuffs that weren’t a big deal I just gently washed over them and they went away, but the book was perfectly in tact and readable! Can’t wait to see what the hype is about, very great and honest seller ! 🤍

    Better Laughter Than Tears

Although the author is young - compared to me anyway - she has a clever and sharp eye for life's most peculiar moments. She is so TEXAS and knows that sometimes the most difficult or wierdest incidents can make you stronger if you let it.

  • funniest book I've read in years

I haven't laughed this hard over anything I've read in ages. I simply love this book, her style of writing, her quirky sense of humor, her bizarre family. I'm a picky reader, but this book gets five stars from me. Love it!
