: Nicely constructed but is slightly too wide for a 1966 Gibson built Epiphone Texan bridge. Likewise it is slightly too long. Making it fit is going to require some reshaping.

This is the perfect saddle for my 1963 Gibson Hummingbird with the adjustable saddle. Shipping was fast and good communication. Great seller. I took my old bridge off, used it as the model & made one out of ebony exactly like the plastic junk and installed this saddle in the saddle slot I Dremeled out.

  • Great item ! . . . but . . . ?

This is an excellent, much needed item. However, not for the novice or drop in buyer. I used this on a 1966 Gibson J160E, that had the original worn, repaired rosewood saddle. It is a beautiful, well machined piece of solid, clear bleached bone. The down side is ; it is significantly oversize. I understand this is so it can and probably will fit a greater number of applications. I am a professional luthier with over 50 years experience. It took me an hour to fit this saddle precisely to the Gibson bridge and adjustment posts. Once it was fitted the guitar took on a whole new sound and feel. It was much louder, clearer and significantly more resonant.
