    The perfect handmic for portable use!

    Plugged in my new mic, keyed up the FT-897 just fine! None of the other features were working and couldn't figure out why! Open the manual (the document most never read) and what do you know! Forgot to set the memory that is used to read the external mic. Don't forget to set the correct memory!

    I'be lost without it.

    when running a full featured HF rig in the mobile, especially when off roading, you NEED a full function remote control mic. and my Wrangler swims a lot to clean mud out of the suspension before we hit the car wash...

    Remote control mic for YAesu 857/897

    With a Yaesu 857 you really need the remote control mic, especially when mobile. This makes it much more practical. Scroll through the menu options, adjust the volume, scan, program a few buttons for a custom function, etc.
