I honestly wasn't expecting much for $20 including shipping. We all know that a quality Snap on or Matco unit is going to set you back a few hundred bucks, even the Harbor Freight unit sells for around $60. So like I said, wasn't expecting to much. Well, it works just as it should, not quite as sensitive as some of the brand names, however a good solid unit that does do what it says. I wouldn't buy this if you are a professional, however for the home mechanic or guy just getting started this item is a no brainer and the price is excellent. You will in fact find a refrigerant leak with it. I would recommend it for sure. Very simple on/off dial, takes four AAA batteries, includes a storage pouch and instructions. Does not work properly
I don't know if the item was just defective or junk. Beeps speraticly and does not properly detect freon. Sometimes it just starts beeping and doesn't stop. If you place it close to anything it will beep.

Exceptional accurate affordable leak detector
Been an HVAC guy for 40 years. Used the very best name brand leak detectors. I purchased this unit for a very reasonable price, 75% lower then a name brand. Found it to be very accurate and as good as best. Its the new high tech electronics we are fortunate to have. I highly recommend buying a couple of these detectors. Can't go wrong.

AC refrigerant leak detector
A good quality inexpensive leak detector. We're using this detector in a professional auto repair shop. It works well at finding refrigerant leaks in automotive ac systems but is not overly sensitive to give false positives as some of our other detectors do.
