These motors usually fail due to a worn brush
These DC motors made by FHP were used by several horizontal washing manufactures in the late 90's / early 2000's. When the motor quits, it's usually due to one of the brushes being worn out. Oddly, one brush wears a lot more than the other and I've been unable to find replacement brushes in the US, but I did in the UK. I decided to get a new motor and it was an easy job to install.
