Received item as described (Ameritron ADL-1500X) "wet dummy load" for transmitters. Unit appears to have a special built carbon 50 ohm resister in a special shielded cage connected to the lid of the can. At 5 watts the SWR doesn't even move the scale and at 150 watts the SWR is still 1.1 Ran 150 watts for over 10 minutes and can barely got warm on top, using mineral oil from farm/ feed store for cooling (food grade.) Very well packed for shipping.

A little pricey but does what it says so if needed, priceless! Came on time and it good shape except for lid had a little crinkles in it but does not effect performance ! It’s crinkled in the assembly process which I think is unavoidable considering the thickness of the “paint can lid”! All in all I would buy again knowing what I know now! GigaParts has always been fair and quick to deliver! A little pricey but does what it says so if needed, priceless! I needed one of these.
Until I got my AL-811 amplifier, I could get along with my 150-watt terminating wattmeter. With the amplifier, I needed a good low-cost kilowatt dummy-load and this Ameritron load was it. The price was lower than any of the dry-style dummy-loads, shipping was free and fast, and it's conservatively rated for my purpose. Perfect!
