    Beautiful integrated from Sansui's Golden Era.

    The AU-217 has a very large transformer for a 30-watt amplifier, and uses metal-cased TO-3 output devices on a nice aluminum heatsink. Controls feel very nice, especially the large volume knob with its knurled edge. While it only supports a single pair of speakers, some will appreciate the simplicity this lends to the amp's design; indeed, the less stuff there is, the less there is to go wrong. While the knobs are not aluminum, they are made of the densest plastic I've ever seen and unless I told you that you would assume solid metal based on how they feel. Sound, as expected from a vintage Sansui product, is strong and clean, with excellent bass and more power than the rating would suggest. Easy to work on and well-made; certainly not BPC and built to last.

    Better than the Eveready Bunny, It just keeps going & going & going

    I'd bought the complete Set, Turntable, AM/FM Receiver, Amp & An AKAI 1800SD R2R, "Reel to Reel", while Stationed in 'Nam, They're all still work fine. My Amp even after 50 years of use is clean & clear, so why change to something different when what I have is "well known" to perform very well. It may be a Dinosaur "so what", So Am I, & I Love IT. Enough Said????
