I have two of these Eton/Grundig field radios now. True, Grundig is gone, just a shiny plastic name plate. But I do like these, even though they are slow to tune. Holds a signal well, good MW reception at night, except I have to rotate the whole radio. FM is very good, and the speaker is OK. The bass and treble work very well, as does the wide reception option. SW is fair with the whip, much better with any elevated wire loop or better outdoor antenna. On the coast of Oregon, using a simple wire loop I can pick up 30+ stations from Asia, OZ, NZ, India, N. Korea, Russia and more. Even Japanese domestic sitcom shows. Because of the dial only tuning, it is important to store staions in the memory for fast access. The only odd thing is the external MW antenna connection- it does not seem to recognize an external antenna- on both units. This is a large unit and somewhat heavy with 6 D batteries, not built for backpacking or a bike trip. Picks up WTWW great at 5085, fun old RnR and Motown. Read full review

This radio feels good to hold and has a great sound. I like that it has a large display and an alarm setting. It has several features which I am learning to use, especially the short wave function.
