    Excellent book. Good reminder that heaven and hell are real, and so are angels and fallen angels (demons). Book shipped quickly, and is in excellent condition. Only flaws of water spot that appears at the bottom on several pages towards the beginning, but does not interfere with text would buy from this buyer again.

    Putting it down is IMPOSIBLE!

    Frank E. Peretti is an amazing writer. This Present Darkness only helps that fact along. The book is just slightly confusing and slow and hard to get into at the begining, but after the first two chapters you won't go to sleep until you know what is going to happen next. You'll be reading this in every spare minute of your day. Now I know what you're thinking. You're saying, "Okay, so I won't be able to put this crazy book down, would any body mind telling me WHY this book is exciting?!" Fine then, I'll tell you. This book is all about spiritual warefare. These demons are trying to take over a whole town and some angels are sent there to stop them. Most of this book isn't in spirits' perspectives however. Most of the book is bassed on ...

    Books come alive with Frank E Peretti's pen

    I enjoy Frank E. Peretti's books and was sold on this author when I read Piercing the Darkness. Afterwhich, it's customary to collect his books and read what story he wants to tell. I call this author a "stephen king" version of christian suspense. Each book teaches a lesson and it's up to the reader to decipher how to apply those lessons to their own lives. I haven't read this book yet and it is the premiere to Piercing the Darkness. I've read Prophet, Tilly, House, and Monster. All excellent readings. These are "guy" type books and although women can read them they are very in depth spiritually.

    Name, Author and year of Peretti book is great

    I read this book many years ago and it changed my life, or at least the way I looked at life. It opened by eyes to what was really going on around me. I highly recommend it for any adult interested in spiritual matters. I decided to buy this book because the copy I had on my bookshelf got loaned to someone (and not returned yet!) and I need to read it again before I loan it to someone else - who knows I may end up buying another copy just so I can loan it out again - it's that important of a book!

    This Present Darkness by Frank E. Peretti

    Although this is a fictional novel....the Biblical principle of having a strong prayer base to combat evil and to be effective in doing battle in "spiritual warfare" is taught effectively in telling the story of a Pastor and his wife and their congregation, in a small college town, where the forces of evil threaten their lives and the people of the town. I had read this book years ago; and our church is learning how to pray effectively and to fight spiritual battles in these dark times. After a conversation with my Pastor, I decided to look for this book so that he could research it to confirm the above mentioned principles of warfare and prayer.
