This is a good series and has a lot going for it, however, the pervasive and nearly activist-level references to homosexuality may be a severe turn off to many readers. If you do not want to read about this topic, which is painted in a very natural and positive light, and has me wondering about the author herself, you may not want to purchase these books. Otherwise, they are very masterfully written and create an extremely immersive world.
