About this product

Product Information

If you're searching for an audio tube that won't disappoint you after a few months, look no further than the RFT 12AX7/ECC83 vintage tube. Manufactured in Germany in 1969, this vacuum tube offers low microphonics, giving you excellent sound quality with minimal back-end noise. These RFT 12AX7/ECC83 tubes amplify sound by 100 times. This allows you to use the vacuum tubes in an antique radio or ham radio. This gear lets your radio pick up on the softest whisper of a voice or string note and amplify it in a crisp way. Because of this high level of amplification, these RFT 12AX7 tubes are popular for use in preamp products and amps. These RFT 12AX7/ECC83 tubes are classified as a Class-A amplifier. They function as an amp when installed as a single tube or as a matched pair of RFT 12AX7/ECC83 tubes. When installed as a matched pair, these RFT guitar tubes deliver 12.6 volts of energy. They have a 300M amp type of current to power your electronics. They have an indirectly heated cathode that facilitates the transfer of electricity to your audio gear. Thus, you'll get a consistent performance that is free of feedback and background noise.Music professionals know that good tubes and hard rock go together like a hand in a glove. The tube was designed for Marshall, Fender, and other high-end amplifiers, and it has a dark crunch that audiophiles love for playing this style. Because these tubes can be wired in series or in parallel, they allow you to customize your amps and other instruments and accessories. When arranged in a series configuration, these powered units provide you with consistent amperage. The rate of current flow remains stable, allowing you to connect several amplifiers together while maintaining the same impedance level. When wired in parallel, these products power a single electronic item with consistent voltage. This tube has a dual-triode setup. There are two separate triode configurations. Each triode consists of an anode, a resistor plate, and a Tungsram wire that leads to the cathode. Each high-value resistor delivers about 100 ohms of impedance in a guitar's amplifier. It has a voltage gain of about 30, which allows it to operate with negative feedback. For rock musicians, this allows you to create feedback loops and reverberations in your music. These units also deliver up to 220,000 ohms of impedance to high-fidelity equipment. This allows you to operate high-powered amplifiers, subwoofers, and speakers with great balance. These products deliver even-sounding tones between bass, mid, and treble frequencies.Your electronics deserve the best. Durable, long-lasting, and outstanding in tone quality, these vintage RFT 12AX7/ECC83 tubes provide stellar performance. Each one of these units measures 2.2 inches long by 0.8 inches in diameter. They have nine posts as well as nine socket connections. Each one of their posts is made of a tungsten alloy for optimal capacitance. These types of amplification products are simple to install. Their posts fit in a unidirectional location with your equipment.

Great sounding tube whether using built in gain or driving it with a fuzz or distortion pedal!

Great balanced tone (not too bright or bass-y, nice mids). Low noise, great presence and punch. Also it's not fizzy when cranking up the gain on your amp. Responds really well to a zvex fuzz factory and a tube screamer. Built-in gain is quite adequate but don't expect Van Halen gain. Btw, I'm playing through an 80's Les Paul standard into a Marshall DSL50 into a 4x12 Celestian speaker cabinet.

  • Excellent unique tube.

What a pleasant suprise! The RFT 12AX7 has a very unique sound, and that is what I am looking for these days. Tubes that are unique in some way, whether that be the type of construction, an odd number or name, or a markedly different kind of sound. This has that markedly different kind of sound! Forward and biting, quite exciting. But not hard on the ears or harsh, either. I like starting a listening session by picking out a tube, depending on what kind of sound I am in the mood for. The RFT definitely will find a place in my tube rotation! If you are looking for another kind of tube for a comparison reference, think Siemens, with just a bit more edge to the sound.

  • Best tube for metal guitar I have ever had. You won't be disapointed.

As a metal guitarist, I know what it's like to constantly be tone chasing. My preferred sound is very prominent and in your face with tight low end, lots of mids and very clear, non buzzy highs. If anyone familiar with V30's would attest, there's that one little beam of bumble bee highs that won't go away. I was extremely happy when I found the NOS RFT ECC83's for all my hi gain amps, as typically finding the right tubes are usually trial and error, it's tough shelling out good cash on NOS tubes, let alone on Tungsol, Sovtek, JJ, Electro Harmonix, TAD, and the list just goes on. To me there's no right or wrong tube, it's YOUR preference that matters. I use ENGL Savage 120, 5150 block letter, Mesa triple rec, and Marshall MKii 50 watter. My favorite are from the Rohrenwerke Anna Seghers ...
