Bang for your buck!
After many years as a DJ, with higher end equipment - I got rid of all my equipment. Years later, I find myself being recommended for DJ gigs...so I decided to invest into a new system. I did not want to invest a large amount of money as I was not sure I was going to do this full time. The Peavey 118's sound good, as long as you provide the right amount of power. I am powering mine with a Crown XLS1500 at 300 watts per channel at 8ohm. Many recommend more, this is the amount I feel safe with - as they are 400watts program...200 watts rms.After many years as a DJ, with higher end equipment - I got rid of all my equipment. Thery're Great for the price!!! Peavey has not let me down!!!
They arrived in perfect condition! I don't like that they did not come with Speakon Connectors but I'll do some modifications to have the Speakon connector. They sound solid and with great punchy bass. Every screw has to be properly tighten if you tinkle with the rear wires or you'll definitely find out that something is loose because it'll rattle. I also wish it was plastic molded like the PVX 15's but that would cost more...Anyway I really like them and up to now Peavey has not let me down. I look forward to rock'in at parties with these bass speakers. Unique Squared hooked me up with these speakers and am proud to do business with them. Oh and obviously there is probably a way better speaker out there that will out do these but for the price you cannot go wrong.They arrived in perfect condition! the Peavey118 is compact and does its job!
I am a Dj and use these Peavey single 118s for bottom ends and EAWs for my tops! the lows are just enough for small to medium venues,when Im in a larger venue I use another set of the same Peavey118,making it two per side with two more tops and they can sure handle the power! YES, I would buy these again!! Peavey products have always come thru for me!

If you question if your subs are thumping the way they were intended to do? There are sub bass test on YouTube that I go to, hook up your phone so it sends the sound to your subs and you'll be convinced that these subs are thumping as designed to do. Thank you Hartley Peavey.
