    Built like a tank !

    These old school RF signal generators are built like a tank. Very stable output and modulation, including FM. The easy to read LED display holds up better than than the the smaller, more difficult to read modern displays. I highly recommend these for RF work below 1 GHz.

    Fixable!

    My Amish neighbor says some things are "fixable" and some are not. This one was. It had a noisy power supply that kept the PLL loops from locking. I know these are full of unobtanium, but all that was still OK. It took awhile to figure out how much noise is OK. Still, don't buy broken gear unless you are really sure of your own technician skills. If you are blessed with this skill by the Almighty, you can have yourself a good piece of test gear for the Ham Radio bench for cheap. If you are a Business Reseller or a Rent-A-Center, go buy NEW gear and leave the old broken ones to us poor Ham Joe Schmoes. You can depreciate the new stuff anyway. We can't. Once done, use it to help that New Novice to get on the air. Don't forget YOUR Elmer!
