Cost Effective Alternative to National Brands.
I like to roll out an "Homage Piece" from time to time, an instrument that captures the spirit of an artist that inspires me or a certain time period thus I chose the G.M. over a "National Brand". The specs looked good on paper and did not disappoint when i received the Unit. The Ohm measurements were correct and more to the point, the unit was well made. My only complaint was that the screw receivers on the base were a bit wide and required a bit of filing to fit the pickup cavity (in which I had previously mounted and used a "National Brand" pickup). Outside of that, the pickup matched up well with the vintage single coil (located in the LEAD position) and once fit and set in place, responded well through a series of good tube and transistor amps. I'd certainly go with G.M. again and ...
