The item doesnt comes with instructions so you'll have to find one online. As for the item itself, it fits and replaced the stock EF-S plastic bayonet. Now my Canon 10-18mm lens can be use on full frame EF mounts but with caveats. They'll be vignetting and possibility of obstructing the movement thus damaging your camera IF set below 14mm. But for my purpose, it'll extend the lifetime of my Canon 10-18mm lens and yes, this is metal as its cold upon touch when this arrived to my house.

Sturdy, easy to replace bayonet mount
If you are looking for a replacement for the cheap plastic mount look no further. I use this metal mount to fit the lens on a Viltrox M2 focal reducer. If you want to do the same thing with the original plastic mount you have to saw off a part of it, otherwise it won't fit on the Viltrox M2 focal reducer. Now it fits perfectly on the lens. I like the quality of the metal, it makes my 10-18mm canon lens way more sturdier. It comes with 4 screws, but the bayonet mount needs 6 screws, 4 of them are regular size and 2 are smaller. These 2 smaller screws keep the electronic connection in place. Just keep in mind not to throw away the original 2 smaller screws as there is no replacement for them in this kit. Fits perfectly for Metabones ultra adapters.
This is a great addition to the lens mount. I had sawed off the plastic one that came with it so i can use it on the metabones ultra that i have. This solves that problem and also gives a solid metal piece.

Simple conversion of Canon 10-18mm without a hacksaw
I have a Sony a6500 and won’t pay the crazy prices for a Sony 10-18mm f4. Saw some videos on how to “hack” a Canon 10-18mm for use on an EF-only Sigma MC-11 but didn’t like the idea of taking a hacksaw to the lens backplate. So, 90 seconds of Google, I’d found this adapter. It shipped all the way from China and it arrived today. After 40mins of switching the plates, I was left with a smart looking metal backplate and Sigma MC-11 compatibility. In short, the lens works on most AF settings an I’m a happy camper. Product is great, well made, well packaged. Entirely metal and no electronics as the lens interface strip stays in place on an “island” that the backplates surround.
