The First and Best Hendrix Compilation
Originally pressed on vinyl after Jimi died, this set sums up all of the Hendrix records on 2 CDS. This compilation was only issued on CD once and is well worth tracking down for the ultra-rare studio track "Gloria".

Released in 1989 on CD only in the USA and Canada, The Essential Jimi Hendrix is one of the finest studio compilations ever produced. While the vinyl was released in the 1970's worldwide, the most important track-Gloria- was only available in Europe as a CD single in 1988 or on The Singles Album released in the UK, West Germany and Japan. The only other official 2CD set that equals the variety of the EJH is an obscure release from Polydor Germany titled "Zweitausendeins" (released as a member-only disc set an vinyl by Club Sonderauflage). Unfortunately, this disc is long out of print and is much rarer than the EJH or the Singles Album. While all this material is available on other CD's today, The Essential Jimi Hendrix lives up to its name. With a mixture of ...
