    The Adcom GFA-555se: A great stereo (or mono bridgable) amplifier with TRUE balanced differential inputs.

    All of the pro's of the original GFA-555 and improved model GFA-555 II plus the GFA-555se includes toggle switch selectable single-ended RCA or XLR inputs which are TRUE balanced differential inputs (*confirmed by the factory engineers). Clean design, simple signal-path, heavy duty power supply (no inexpensive 'switching power supply" as many others use) , class A/B operation and great performance for the price.

    Excellent Investment! Solid Powerhouse 2 Channel Mosfet Amp

    This is a really good investment. Why? In 25 years, you will still be listening to this amp because it is built to last. They aren't making any more of these. If you can get one in sub $1000 in good shape, you've got a win. The Mosfet has a distinct advantage. This amp will drive just about any speakers you could pair with it, easily. Do not enclose it! Make sure it is well ventilated. You will need a preamp and the quality of which will affect your listening soundstage. Also, this amp is very heavy. For my investment, I've got in return thousands of hours of listening enjoyment and every hour I use it, my cost to own goes down and my ROI goes up.Helped me fall in love with my vinyl again.     Clean high current amp super sound stage

    This is the redesign of the 555 done by Nelson Pass, an acclaimed audio engineer. It has more massive heat sinks with double the driver board componentry. The audio is very clean and powerful. This is a brute of an amplifier and will stand lots of abuse, without breaking down. It is an exceptional buy at any price under a thousand.

    ADCOM GFA-5500

    After my last review the used price has about doubled,I only told the truth.MOSFET power is by far the best and most efficient.The GFA-555 is a transistor amplifier that is prone to overheat and failure which is a very bad thing and design.On my last review I told people to put the 555 and 5500 next to each other and turn the volume up to hallway 12:00 on both amps and leave and come back 6 hours later.The 5500 will be going strong and hammering the bass,but the 555 will be in thermal shutdown,and probably won't EVER work right again.Back then the 555 were going for high dollar,but now the 5500 is blowing the 555 out of the water.The most I ever paid for a 5500 was 325 dollars,but now I can sell it for 800 dollars that is a pretty good investment lol.ADCOM amps are built tough and the ...

    The Adcom 555 is a power house!

    About as good as you can get for between $350 and $450 used. The MKII that replaced it is a little better but you'll pay about $100 more for one. Both are excellent and worth the cost of what they typically go for used in good condition. They need to be recapped being around 20 or so years old depending the model but they have no other inherit problems of any kind. As clean and pure sounding as any amp out there under 2K. They are that good!
