This seller was very helpful and communicative, answering several questions prior to my order. The item was packaged very well for shipping (I purchased a fragile optical instrument), and arrived exactly as described. AAA+++ transaction as far as I am concerned. Would highly recommend this seller.

Incredible experience! Made offer. Immediately accepted but contacted them to see if large item I purchased could be disassembled to give me just the two monitors that I needed also making a smaller shipping package and saving me $350 in shipping charges. They agreed without hesitation and it arrived faster than was promised by UPS. Packaging was brilliant and the best I have ever seen for 2 fragile monitor screens. Would not hesitate to use this company and recommend them highly.

Best Analog Scope in it's class

Tektronix 475 Oscilloscope may be yesterday's technology, but it still performs and functions as well as any modern analog scope to present day. You just can't beat the performance and quality for the money. Thank heavens you can still find these remarkable instruments in good used condition on ebay and elsewhere in the market place. If you happen to run across one at a reasonable price, my advice would be to latch onto it. They may be old from the early 70's but will serve you well on the bench.

  • Tek 475A is a solid vintage scope great for home shop or amateur radio.

The TEK 475 and 475A are solid scopes. They are designed to be repaired. But, keep in mind some parts may be hard to find. Since you are buying a scope upwards of 40 years old, expect it to not be in perfect working condition. Controls will be worn and it will need calibration. The Tektronix 475A is a great analog scope with solid triggering. Look for a unit that is newer and in good condition. Great deals can be had if you are willing and able to do troubleshooting and repair to the scope on your own. Any 400 series TEK scope can be a useful addition to your home lab/shop.

  • I'd recommend a calibrated Tek400 series scope to anyone into electronics.

As an EE student I was in the market for my own oscilloscope for home and had been going back and forth over which to choose as my very first. New DSO or older analog? What make, what model? Rigol is really popular right now. After much thought I decided on a Tek475 for a couple of reasons. I feel it's the best way to get a good understanding of the operation basics of scopes and analog circuits. (In contrast to the Agilent DSO's at school that do everything for you at the press of a button.) I'm also at I high enough level where I can do repair work if anything breaks down so the 475 is perfect for that with its use of common discrete parts. This one came in great condition for its age and was calibrated and ready to go right out of the box. In a year or so ...

  • Industry standard throughout the 70s and 80s. Still a powerful scope.

I've used a Tek 475 for 20+ years as an Electronics Engineer/Tech in the avionics systems manufacturing industry. During the 70's and 80's, the state-of-the-art evolved significantly -- embedded real-time uP-controlled systems, large-scale integration (PAL's), exponentially higher processing speeds, higher component density (SMT) on the multilayer PCB's. The Tek 475 kept up with all of these enormous changes in how circuits were designed, tested, and manufactured. Today, my 475 is used for pro audio systems and instrument amplifier repair / modification. Granted, this scope is overkill for this level of technical work. But, I never did care for "marginal" test equipment :). It's a great scope... shows me what I want to see with ease.

  • This 40-year-old Tektronix product still works great.

This 40-year-old Tektronix product still works great. Working for Tektronix in the 1970s, I must've sold over 1000 of these incredible 475 oscilloscopes. To find one in this good of shape, and at this great price, is truly a treasure.
