Famous, seldom seen, and worth the wait
As a late war Ii kid I grew up on these stories, including the FDR ref to Shangri-la but just last week read the book and was inspired to buy this, having learned that the book author thought enough of the movie to watch it several times. Now I understand all the reknown, and am really pleased to have seen it, especially in this very well prepared copy. The story is compelling, the plot outstanding, and even seems to relate to current times- totally unexpected, that. The cinematography is first rate and the back story on the disc is well worth a look. Lost horizon movie of my childhood
It was really nice seeing the movie as it was intended to be viewed. I had only seen it on TV as a child and it always captivated me. Hopefully the missing scenes will eventually turn up. The scenes where they have to use still photography to match up with the full soundtrack they located it works well but it would be great to have the original footage. I highly recommend the movie.
