    weird design, slow stopping

    By "Kool-Stop", I guess they mean "slow stop", because that's what these pads do. If you tend to panic stop these might be a good item. For me, they require too much lever pressure to get true action, and I am a full grown guy. A little dangerous if you don't have powerful hands.

    Kool Stop carbon brake pads

    These brake pads were very squeaky and wore incredibly fast making them a poor buy. I switched to a different product and they seemed to be holding up well, much better than the Kool stops. I have used Kool stop for alloy wheels before with no issues, the carbon models do not hold up well.

    Kool stop pads

    I have used these pads on all my bikes for years. They don't scratch the rim surface like factory Shimano pads and they are quieter too. Sure, they may wear faster but to me that is a small price to pay for not grooving my rims. They don't get aluminum bits imbedded in the pads. Plus they are not that much for two sets when it comes time to replace them.
