About this product

Product Information

Cotton Malone retired from the high-risk world of elite operatives for the U.S. Justice Department to lead the low-key life of a rare-book dealer. But his quiet existence is shattered when he receives an anonymous e-mail: You have something I want. You're the only person on earth who knows where to find it. Go get it. You have 72 hours. If I don't hear from you, you will be childless. His horrified ex-wife confirms that the threat is real: Their teenage son has been kidnapped. When Malone's Copenhagen bookshop is burned to the ground, it becomes brutally clear that those responsible will stop at nothing to get what they want. And what they want is nothing less than the lost Library of Alexandria. A cradle of ideas-historical, philosophical, literary, scientific, and religious-the Library of Alexandria was unparalleled in the world. But fifteen hundred years ago, it vanished into the mists of myth and legend-its vast bounty of wisdom coveted ever since by scholars, fortune hunters, and those who believe its untold secrets hold the key to ultimate power. Now a cartel of wealthy international moguls, bent on altering the course of history, is desperate to breach the library's hallowed halls-and only Malone possesses the information they need to succeed. At stake is an explosive ancient document with the potential not only to change the destiny of the Middle East but to shake the world's three major religions to their very foundations. Pursued by a lethal mercenary, Malone crosses the globe in search of answers. His quest will lead him to England and Portugal, even to the highest levels of American government-and the shattering outcome, deep in the Sinai desert, will have worldwide repercussions.

  • Great Author. Great Story. FANTASTIC! Read it in 3 days

The Library of Alexandria is well known to some, but most people don't know much about the history of the greatest collection of writings ever compiled in one place. The library disappeared several hundred years ago without a trace; much like the lost city of Atlantis it has produced many conspiracy theories. Steve Berry has undertaken writing a thriller surrounding a mystery of ages. As in his other 4 offerings(read them if you haven't because they are all great), Berry uses the backdrop of an ancient secret to build upon. This book follows Cotton Malone, the character that Berry introduced in his previous work, The Templar Legacy. Cotton finds that his son has been kidnapped and watches his bookstore get burned after he is told that he must provide "The Alexandria Link" to a ...

  • Alexandria Link

This was a great book I could not put it down and read the whole book in 3 days. The author keeps several story lines going at once all intrical to the story and all very interesting. This is the latest book by author Steve Berry and the second starring retired ex government agent Cotton Malone. Anyone who likes Dan Brown and his works including DaVinci Code are sure to like this book and other Steve Berry books. The author is a mixture of Dan Brown and Clive Cussler. His work has the historical context and mystery of Dan Brown along with the adventure and story telling of Clive Cussler. I would recommend this book and also Templar Legacy, another Cotton Malone adventure by Steve Berry.

  • The Alexandria Link

I bought this book because I just finished reading another one of Steve Berry's books called "The Templar Legacy" - I enjoyed it and thought I'd give this one a try! I highly recommend "The Alexandria Link". It is exceptionally written - full of information, action and suspense. This book is a continuation in the life of key characters from "The Templar Legacy" and has more detailed studies into Biblical geography and lost texts ... truth and imagination combine beautifully in this novel! Having read both books, I would recommend reading them in order for the purpose of better understanding the story line of the characters; however, each book stands alone and both are well worth the read!

  • Excellent and educational adventure

Great historical education and fun adventure. Some nice twists.
